A Bit About Us

Syringa Bodywork is a North Idaho Barefoot Myofascial Massage Practice. More traditionally known as Ashiatsu, this technique was first seen in India over 2,000 years ago. Since then, it has become what we now call Barefoot Massage. We utilize gravity and bodyweight to apply broad, flowing pressure with the feet. This approach allows us to provide a more intentional and evenly sustained depth, always working with the client’s comfort. By applying these broad strokes, we are able to engage the fascial system. This helps loosen adhesion, release muscle spasm and tension, and calm the nervous system. We strive to bring our own intuitive rhythm to the table through creativity, and knowledge of physiology. Our purpose is to address the body as a whole, affecting all the systems to achieve a state of overall well-being.

I am a client-focused massage therapist and have always been fascinated by the functions of the human body. With over 20 years experience, I have been trained in numerous classes and certifications including Advanced Ashiatsu and Range of Motion through Center for Barefoot Massage, Arvigo Abdominal Massage, Role Model Method with Tune Up Fitness, and Lymphatics and Blood Flow with Stop Chasing Pain. I LOVE being a part of people’s wellness journey and working with them to improve quality of life.

I have been a practicing massage therapist for seven years specializing in deep tissue. In 2022, I was presented with the opportunity to train as an Ashiatsu therapist, or what we call barefoot myofascial massage. I offer techniques including cupping, myofascial release, range of motion, and lymphatic drainage. By the end of 2023, I will have my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health and become advanced trained in barefoot massage. I love helping people find balance, whether that is physical, or mental-emotional. I will work to understand your specific needs for the best results.
